Draft Analysis
At the end of the season (all 16 weeks), I decided I wanted to try and do something to give some values to the draft. So, I went ahead and put all of our picks into a sheet with their data based on who drafted them, what round, what overall pick, and what pick by position. Then, I took their final rankings based on their position and overall. I subtracted the differences for each respectively to come up with some values. Then, for each type of system, I added all of the team values to come up with an overall rankings.
An example would be my Gronk: Taken 7th overall and 1st as TE.
Rankings wise…
He finished 14th overall, which would give him a -7 rating for overall.
He finished 1st for TE’s, which would give him a 0 rating for positional.
I did this for every player that was drafted to get the team values.
The higher the positive number, the better.
It’s a good bit to take in and see, so I am leaving the files here for download if anyone else wants to take a peak or play around with it. Otherwise, this is what all I came up with….
